On July 1, villagers created a ruckus when free fast tags were not provided to local people at Gabhana toll plaza. During this, there was a scuffle between the villagers and the officials associated with the toll management. The local police reached the spot and drove away the people. Later, SDM, CO and Inspector-in-Charge pacified the villagers by explaining them.
It is noteworthy that on 28 June, local people created a ruckus at the toll plaza when the free fastag service was stopped. On which talks were scheduled with the officials related to the management on 1 July. Around 10 am, Chairman Kunwar Abhimanyuraj Singh, District President of Yuva Morcha of Bhakiyu Bhanu Krishna Thakur, District President of Bhakiyu Kisan Ekta Munendra Thakur and local people reached the toll plaza. But, no senior officer reached the toll plaza. On this, people started creating a ruckus. The ruckus that started at 10:30 in the morning continued till about 1:30 in the afternoon.
Later, officials from the toll management reached the spot and talked to the villagers. However, no solution was found from the talks. On this, the local people opened the toll booth and made the toll free for about 15 minutes and started protesting by sitting at the booth itself. On receiving the information, Inspector-in-charge Gajendra Singh reached there and explained to the villagers, then the people calmed down. Later, SDM Vineet Mishra, CO Ranjan Sharma held talks with Chairman Abhimanyuraj Singh, Yuva Morcha District President Krishna Thakur, Munendra Thakur and other villagers. But the talks failed. Now the talks will be held for the third time on Thursday.
Free fasttags were installed for people living in a 7km area
Villagers said that the toll management had installed free fasttags for the villagers of villages falling within the radius of seven km of the toll plaza. Monthly passes were made within the radius of twenty km. For a week, the toll management had stopped installing free fasttags. Due to which the villagers were facing a lot of problems. Every day there was a tussle with the toll workers regarding the removal of vehicles.
